Ok restaurant, however, slightly on the tourist trap genre. We had a fish salad and buffalo mozzarella tomato salad and a glass of wine. Possibility to sit outdoor if weather permits. Overall, pretty ok.

My gang is there, it's a fun place for me
personally. They have good wine and lovely staff. I don't like the seating concept of "watch and be seen" in front ... but whatever. I like it, like it!!!

Location, location, location,... and like most places which rely on this, their service sucks. Didn't notice any improvement over the last four to five years. But the food is reasonable. So if the weather is nice just relax there in the sun and enjoy the crowd and impressive panorama. Just don't expect to get your drinks during your stay - otherwise that saves some money ;-)
P.S.: There's a small 'playground; for kids at the Hofgarten side.

Very inconsistent. I have been to Tambosi many times and the experience has varied from very good to very bad. This includes food, service and atmosphere. My very first visit was the best - food was great and fast, our waiter was charming and very nice. The next visit was almost the opposite. Our waitress was cranky and seemed to forget about our drinks and dinner. The next time was ok but the wait was long (outside in the Hofgarten).


Depending on when you go, what you order, who your waiter or waitress is and perhaps who the cook is, your experience can vary greatly. But I would still recommend it, if nothing else, for the beautiful setting and decor inside or eating outside (in the Hofagarten) on a beautiful summer's day.

Delicious choice for breakfast. The waiter was confident he could memorize all of our orders, but will ended up forgetting items. Worth it however as it is one of the only places open Sunday mornings!

Service is a bit slow and rude sometimes but in general I would recommend this place for a drink or coffee to enjoy the view of Odeonsplatz. The inside is also nice.

Nothing here extraordinary except for the location and bad service. Try to get a menu here, you are dependent on the people around you - not the staff. Have a lot of patients and do not be prepared to et friendlyness. Obviously no one cares, because tourists and visitors are enough to visit this place only once.

We arrived here and took a seat outside in what turned out to be an unfortunate section. While we waited nearly 20 minutes for the server to even make an appearance, we watched multiple tables just get tired of waiting and leave the area.
As our waiter arrived, another table of elderly people got up to leave. When he asked what they wanted, they said they had been waiting for 30 minutes and were not going to eat here. Instead of apologizing he berated them and told them they were lying and then dismissed them with a sarcastic auf wiedersehen.
We ended up getting both parts of our meal before our drinks ever arrived. When we asked another waitress where our drinks were and explained we needed them for our meal she gave us an excuse that all the waiters are waiting on their drink orders and there is nothing she can do about it and walked off.
During our meal another table of people, with children, waited almost 20 minutes for the waiter to come by. When he came by they complained about having to wait so long and he began to once again get aggressively argumentative with them for no reason. He told them they could leave or they could order, but do one or the other.
I have never witnessed such rudeness and bad service in my life, even after living 2 years in Germany. If I thought speaking to a manager would've done anything I would've asked, but instead I will let this miserable man continue to suck at everything he does in his life, and simply warn people on Qype.
The food itself was mediocre at best and definitely did not make up for the terrible service in any way. It was half cold by the time our drinks arrived to wash it down and the portion size was not worth even the Tageskarte price.
Other than that, the setting is definitely is lovely, which is good because you will probably sitting in it for quite some time if you plan on having lunch there.
