The coffee was quite decent but the wait time unacceptable. Waited for approx 10 mins to make an order, not because the shop being super busy (vs peek hours business districts) but purely cause it was a tat inefficient in taking orders.
Coffee was nice and properly made. Had a flat white and the coffee was appropriately extracted, milk wasn't too hot, all in all I won't mind go back again.
They do sell lots of special grinds/ beans so certainly id explore next time as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 24. jouluk. 2018
The climpson & sons coffee shop was a fab find in the area. If you are visiting the market you must swing by. I usually cannot drink straight espresso because it is just too bitter and too sour, but the espresso at this shop was complex, nutty, silky and delicious like nectar from coffee beans. I highly recommend trying their espressos straight. Note that one of their blends is more sour and one of them taste more chocolatey so ask the baristas for the flavour profile before you order.

Christmas purchase for moi from Climpsons and Sons. The Seasonal espresso blend. Smells great and like the cafe though always get my coffee to go so I wander the street or market.
It's in a perfect hipster location and is of high quality.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Selma W.East London, Britannia4615211320. toukok. 2015
Their soya flat white was a velvety cloud of perfection.
I like the cramped style and the benches outside that let you watch life pass by.
Service was super friendly.
Will be returning for more of the same as a welcome pause in a hectic day. Is there a better coffee in broadway? I'm not so sure...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Michelle L.Brooklyn, Yhdysvallat24523535912. syysk. 2019
I want to like this spot, but of the few times I've been there, the cashier literally doesn't acknowledge me and makes me wait a few mins for no good reason, and this has happened multiple times with diff cashiers. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly and they ran out of jelly....?!!?!?!? There's 4 items on the food menu, just pop over to a store and buy some. Slightly absurd. The coffee is good and the shop is really cozy, but there's also no bathroom. When you're drinking coffee...we'll, you know.

Where the hell is my friggin' coffee? Why is that stupid lady talking to all the staff about rubbish I don't want to hear, really loudly? Seriously, 2 other people who came in after me have now walked out with cups of wonderful sexy brown goodness, where the frig is mine?!
Oh so now you, the cazy lady disturbing the staff from coffee the making has grabbed a cup that suspiciously looks like it could be mine. And the staff are now laughing at you, and your boring tales...
Oh you asked for a flat white did you Miss Crazy? Oh your name is Lizzie too!? Oh you have my black coffee, waving it about, getting it cold, taunting me? Yes, I think you do.
I have a coffee addiction, this place is mean and the staff roll their eyes but I will go back, again and again because their coffee is good. Just don't come here if you are in a rush, or if you're in a bad mood, or if you're allergic to "dickheads," if you've seen the YouTube video you'll get that reference... breathe... sip coffee...
Actually this place isn't that bad, I think I may come back again tomorrow.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 010. elok. 2010Edellinen arvosteluEvery morning I hear the rattle of beans out the back of my window. Climpson and sons roast their own grounds there and sometimes the wafts of coffee wake me on a lazy weekend morning. It's wonderful. So after a few weeks of this you can imagine the buzz of anticipation running through me as I stepped through this coffee house's door.
It was a Saturday, their busiest day. There was a queue out the door. The woman taking our orders and money was stressed. I'll give them that. But really I was a little disappointed. After hearing about the joys of this place it really wasn't any more exciting that Caffeine. Yes the coffee was lovely, no filter though.
The guys who made the drinks were lovely, simile and enjoying the pressure of the Saturday. I say to the money taker "get out the kitchen if you can't stand the heat." There is no need to spoil our weekend with your scowl. - 25. marrask. 2011
Consistently good espresso drinks are to be found at C and S. The bevvies, as others have already mentioned, may take FOREVER to come up on the counter/be delivered to your seat, but they do, eventually, get there.
Cash-poor folk beware: C and S will charge you a 50 pence (annoyance fee) if you try to purchase your goods with a card. I was told that this is to dissuade folk from doing so when the line is out the door and folk are only ordering one coffee drink and wanting to pay by card as it slows the line down and is a pain. (I totally get that, btw.) I, on the other hand, was purchasing beans, it was a slow day, and, as the guy behind the counter had witnessed not but a few minutes prior, had spent my last bit of cash on a drink and snack, and could only then use a card to buy the beans I had spotted only after my initial purchase. If I were C and S, then I'd be a bit more discerning in my 50p charging of custies for c.c. machine usage. Is that sort of practice even legal?Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Christoph N.Lontoo, Britannia458888722313. maalisk. 2016
Coffee is my cup of tea. Ah! Alright, sorry. I was saying that I love coffee, and a quick look at the queue in front of Climpsons & Sons made me think that some good stuff was happening here. And indeed it was. I hesitated first, but it did go pretty fast in the end, and we even found seats by the window, lucky day. The place is tiny though, so coffee to-go might be your best way to enjoy this deliciousness (making up cool words here). Must-go, but try not to schedule this a Saturday...it's Broadway Market day.

I happily admit that I am completely addicted to coffee, and even though I try and keep my daily dose to just two a day that still makes for a lot of cafe sampling. And this is what I've learned ... hipster outlets behind vintage shopfronts translate into strong coffee with perfect froth ... it always feels like a bit of a show (-off) but I have got used to waiting that little longer for my reward. Coffee tends to be particularly good when roasting is part of the deal and you can buy beans to take away, another tick. Climpson & Sons was not as overpriced as others, so a good experience alround,

Ordered a filter coffee. Barista looked irritated, poured me a coffee and left well over an inch room even though I didn't ask for milk. Unfortunately, the coffee was room temperature at best, and I politely asked for an espresso-based drink as replacement. Barista (and his team) looked even more irritated this time around, but defiantly served me a cappuccino, which actually turned out to be very good.
Summary: avoid the filter coffee; espresso drinks are presumably all okay, but be prepared that staff are complete bitches.
I won't be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
