If I'd describe this place, I'd say it's part diner and part bar. Edelmann happened to have a menu del dia (menu of the day) at lunchtime for €9,50. It's a steal because it includes 2 courses plus beverage plus dessert or coffee.
My cousin and I both ordered the onion soup to start. I had the battered lamb with aioli, while she tried the grilled veal steak with french fries. We both opted not to get dessert and had coffee instead. We also had Fanta limón as our beverage.
The food came out at a leisurely pace, as with most things in Spain, but was pretty decent for the price-point. Not bad for lunch at all. The lamb was nicely battered and not gamey. The aioli was meh because I'm not a huge fan of mayo. I did ask for ketchup, which they did have. My cousin said her veal steak was tasty and she ate some of my aioli while I ate her grilled poblano pepper.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - MyLinh P.Costa Mesa, Yhdysvallat43720935228. kesäk. 2014
Dude, don't ask me why I ordered a burger in Barcelona.
I'll tell you why anyway. After walking around the city the entire day, we couldn't take it any longer and chose to trek to the closest restaurant we saw. I am usually not a fan of tourist traps, but we were starving. I don't know why, but I decided to follow the reviews and ordered the Boracay burger along with some other tapas, including chorizo sausages, fries drenched in sauce and some other unmemorable stuff. Without the burger, I'd probably give this place 2.5 stars (service and tapas weren't all that good), but look how many more stars i'm tacking on because of that damn delicious burger! Coming from the home of the best burgers in the world (California), it is hard for me to say this, but the Boracay burger was hands down, the best burger I've ever had. Please try it. You won't regret it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Christine H.Barcelona, Espanja43113. toukok. 2016
Maybe the Cook had a bad day, our tapas werde really lousy, the tomato mozzarella salat tasted like water, the meat was the opposite oft soft and tender and the bread tasted like cheap olive oil. In top oft that it was quite expensive. But the burger looked really good, even though i don't tried one.

Muchas Gracias!
I am an American who was traveling recently in Barcelona. We stayed just around the corner from Edelmann, and woke up to a hotel breakfast that would break the bank (18.5 Euro each for six of us!).... no way, no how. So we wandered around and stumbled across Edelmann. The front is not much to look at, since they seem to be undergoing some construction work just outside the door. But we ducked in.
We found a simple breakfast, enough to send us on our way for the day (flying home) of croissants, decent coffee (strong European style), fresh (really!) orange juice, breakfast sandwiches, etc. Our party of six got out for barely more than one breakfast at the hotel (just under 24 Euro total!) with good food and a good time. Local eople were obviously staying around and enjoying their Monday morning there, but we had to move on.
Service was friendly, but we had a language barrier. She was willing to work with us and we had a little Spanish, so all was well. Great place and I can't imagine a better way to have our last breakfast in Europe.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David M.Seal Beach, Yhdysvallat2139. toukok. 2014
I have to agree with Matt P. We went to Edelmann based on his description of the Borcay burger (which I also ordered). It was, indeed, one if the best burgers I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare (which I like), so if you like your burger fully cooked, I recommend you order it that way. My wife ordered Tapas and enjoyed them as well.

Went to Edelmanns 3 times because it was next door to our hotel. First two times we ordered beers on tap and potatoes brava. Quick and simple no problem. The third time we wanted more food and ordered sandwiches and some tapas. We sat at bar and I asked if shrimp was fresh . The lady behind the counter said yes. So I ordered the bambas (shrimp with garlic and olive oil) she heated it up and when she placed it in front of my and my teenage children , my son and daughter remarked how it smelled bad. I said they were right and did not take one bite. When the waitress came back I told her the bambas had gone bad. I said they smelled, she told the older lady working with her behind the counter , what I said and the older lady went nuts, saying in Spanish , which I speak, that I was smelling the garlic, and that the fish was fresh, I said no I know what garlic smells like, this is old fish. Fish is not supposed to smell, if it does do not eat it. She told the younger to charge me the full amount. And they did, 7.5 euros for old fish. I told them I would not eat the fish and paid the full bill, but I took photos of the fish and the bill to post. There are so many great tapas bars 30 feet in any direction, why we ate there was our stupidity. I know better. If they don't prepare food fresh in front of you don't eat it.
