The H20 appears over-priced until you consider what you get in return.
Free, ample parking.
Massive indoor and outdoor heated pools, deck chairs and sun loungers provided free. 2 great water shutes. Many fun options for both young children and teenagers. Ample changing / showering and locker facilities. Hairdryers provided free - bring your own shampoo. Excellent range of good quality food and drinks, large portions at just bordering on high prices. You can bring your own food and drinks - no glass containers for safety reasons - and use their dining areas without staff objecting.
The main pools area - excluding sauna areas - can be very, very busy at weekends. However, whilst this area can therefore be a bit louder than you may prefer, it is still very roomy and usually quietens down after 5 p.m.
Sauna world is huge. Here it is mixed nudity, including most showering and changing areas. Therefore, certainly not for the shy. Swim nude and pick from a range of saunas that hold upwards of 20 to 40 people depending on how hot each one is. You have choices from 60 to 100 degrees of heat, to suit beginners to pros. Good, friendly service and full menu options also available here. Here you need to be a little more considerate about where you eat and drink food you bring in yourself. Again, no glass containers.
I would recommend at least 2 very large bath towels. One to sit on in the saunas, and a second one to use after showering. Whilst most people walk around the whole area nude or topless most of the time, a bathrobe and open toe sandals can certainly make you feel more comfortable. Theme events on the hour are worth trying - rubbing salt into your skin or nibbling frozen, flavoured ice lollies.
Take a book or newspaper and plan to stay at least 3 to 4 hours. Quiet rooms, with reclining loungers and blankets, are set aside if you feel sleepy. Whilst there can be several hundred people in this area at weekends, it never seems packed. Note that if you enter via the main pools area to use both the normal and sauna areas, you receive a different bracelet to wear. This operates on a magnet function, whereby if you enter and then leave sauna world, you are prevented from returning for 30 minutes. It likely stops families from buying cheaper entry and then swapping bracelets around to access other areas on the cheap. Can be annoying though if you opt to pop out to check on older children once in a while.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
