Messe Turm

I'm not sure why anyone would want to rate a skyscraper, but since I worked there for five years I guess I should chime in. OUr office was on the 35th, just about in the middle. Even at that height the views are fairly spectacular. I went to work there three months after 9/11 so it was a bit, er, unsettling at first.


Anyway, it's got 65 floors in total, looks like a giant dick on the skyline, and is not the best part of town to work in as there's not much in the way of eateries nearby.


Contrary to what one of our German reviewers said, you can open the windows. A few years back a night watchman did so by throwing an office chair through one. He then jumped out from the 40th and landed on the top of the base structure which is more or less the first three floors high so that he at least didn't land where everyone would see what was left of him. So yeah, with determination you can open those windows.


I give it three stars for no particular reason.
