As old as Dublin itself - well ok, not really but you get the picture. After a number of venue changes on the same street, this megalopolis of all things electronic is a real treasure trove for the techno-geeks.
On first entering, it would seem like a cathedral to the television - the bigger the better, but that would be to ignore a well-stocked and exhaustive computer accessory section at the rear.
Downstairs, though is where the hi-fi has been relegated (a sign of the times). However if you are looking to buy a double tape deck for your stereo system (do we still use that term?) then here is where you'll find it. They do a nice line in wi-fi radios too. The staff members seem to know what they're talking about and it is Irish after all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Edmund O.Dublin, Irlanti89114733. kesäk. 2010
As with most electronics, it is often cheaper to order them online.
Peats is grand if you need that item now! Plus, some of their sales are actually quite good. A fortnight ago they had a plasma on sale for an incredibly low price, it was quite tempting!
Most of the staff there appear to know their stuff, though you'll obviously run into the odd fellow who doesn't know.
I've had good customer service here. I purchased a laptop cooler, after running into some problems at a lesser-quality electronic shop. The manager wrote a guarantee on my receipt saying I could defo return it if it wasn't what I was looking for. I still have the cooler now, but it was nice to have confidence that my purchase was risk-free.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rob M.Dublin, Irlanti5835111916. lokak. 2009Ensimmäisen arvostelun tekijä
Peats is the kind of place people who don't go out that much frequently spend their hard-earned cash. If you have plenty of money and thoroughly enjoy watching movies on your 48 inch HD LCD screen with surround sound on blu-ray, then you'll love Peats. It's full of expensive home entertainment equipment.
Although I can't afford any of it, I frequently browse through Peat's world of fancy gadgetry, but they rarely have anything I'm looking for in stock.
I did get a DAB radio for fairly cheap here, but that was a rare occurrence, as the shop is generally fairly expensive.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype-käyttäjä (dubwo…)Dublin, Irlanti2817. maalisk. 2009
Peats is really good for electronics! the staff are knowledgable and will easily point you to whatever cable you need and so on. There is quite an array of laptops in this shop too, but one thing i think peats stands out by, is by how much bose speakers the shop stocks. I'd say the sound systems are the shops niche market in dublin!

Peats in Parnell Street re-opened at the end of April 2012 and some other Peats shops have and more might re-open. So the closure lasted only 1 month. Peats is now in examinership for 100 days, which means that there is a chance that the company will be saved when it gets rid of some of the debts and liabilities.
