It's awesome to find a neighborhood theater that shows movies in their original language. If it's helpful to know:

VOSE means Version Original Subtitulada en Español.
(The movie is in its original language with Spanish subtitles.)

VO means Version Original, where there are no subtitles and the movie is played
in its original language. Just make sure you know the original language - it's not
always English!

Note: Many people/blogs misinterpret VO as voice over/dubbed, and that's not accurate.

A few logistical things:

The seats are assigned vs. general admission.
You can use a credit card for your ticket, but need cash for the concession stand.
They don't offer butter for the popcorn.
Sala 4 had 10 rows and a partial 11th. Odd numbers are on the left side of the aisle.
Bathrooms were clean.
Easy walk from Metro Urgell.


There are actually several VOSE theatres and art houses in Barcelona, but this is the only one I've tried so far so I can't give a comparison. However, I intend to return soon!

Oh, how I missed going to the movies! Now that we're back, there is comfort in the familiarity of this old movie house. Old, because it is. Comfort, because it is... comfortable. ...and familiar. I'm glad to be back!

Wanted to check out a movie theatre while I was in Spain. Found this near to where I was staying and saw that they were offering movies with English Subtitles. I wanted to watch a Spanish movie, but went to watch an American movie with Spanish subtitles.

The theater was clean and well maintained. Nothing fancy, just the basics. Temperature inside the hall was comfortable and so was the seating.

Yay! Original version English language movies!!! with subtitles in spanish so I can actually follow along and learn something while I'm at it.

Only been here once. I like all the vintage cameras in the lobby.

the bathroom stalls are seriously lacking... I'm not sure about the sizes of the other screens, but the theatre I was in was rather small. definitely adequate for a drama or comedy, but probably not for the giant action/thriller or sci-fi type blockbuster.

My first time at the movies in Barcelona... i'm happy.

Nice theater. Comfortable seats, reasonable prices. Typical city-center-sized screens.

Love this place. Friendly management. Comfortable seats. And a really cool old projector collection. Will be back.

My girlfriend Shirley stayed in Barcelona in May.
We paid a visit to this lovely cinema.
This arthouse cinema is a true gem.
They have a wonderful display of vintage projectors in the foyer.
All in all a visit there is a must.

The Renoir Floridablanca offers current movies in the original language with Catalan subtitles, so if you want to catch a movie and don't speak Spanish/Catalan, this is an excellent option. The seven screens can offer a wide range of movies. The location is easy to find, about 15 minutes walking from Plaça Catalunya.
