Rising Sun

I used to call into this pub on my way back to college after home visits - between 1971 and 1974!
It has been updated a few times, but they've never lost the friendliness inherent in the pub. It's nice to know that it is still doing the quality meals it has always been known for as I haven't been for a couple of years now.
This pub was originally a stop for us as it has a decent carpark and is difficult to miss on your way through Tarporley. It was a lucky find, as, at the time, it was one of the few friendly pubs in the area (to students that is!).
I would recommend the Rising Sun to anybody, without reservation, but - they need to improve the choice of real ales a little.

Lovely Sunday lunch in pleasant surroundings. New owners have made a really good start and we wish them well

My mum goes for lunch here every saturday, she loves it and so do I!!
They offer home cooked meals, a very rare thing to find these days. Their chips are to die for!!!!!!

Agree with Dancing Kel - A great place to eat lovely freshly prepared food and washed down with a nice cold pint ... mmmmm! The pub itself is also of interest as it has been here as long as the village of tarporley where it is - Very close to the Portal Golf Course - So I great place to eat before or after a few holes of golf - Children are also welcome at this friendly pub - An open log fire can also be enjoyed to top it all off
