It must be popular, the ship restaurant!

Taste: Not bad. Simple. You can imagine from the pictures.
Customer service: Simple.
Price: More expensive than I expected.

We used to visit when our daughters were little and decided to come back now they have grown up and we were back in the area. The ship is still nice, the pancakes are still great. Well worth the visit and not only with children. Location is easily accessible from the centre of town.

Really delicious! You must try this pancake hour in Groningen, because best one yet. Perfect lunch on a sunny day with breeze hitting you by the canal.

I tried the Turkish pancake, with a side of mint hot tea. It was good but big portion that's topped with meat, vegetables and best of y'all, French fries!!! Very filling.

Good service. Good food.

Big crepes. Not overly cheap (€13 -€15 in the main) Fairly tasty. Servers were pleasant. Next time I will go for cheese, ham & onion!

The ten-year-old in me loves this place. Pancakes on a pirate ship! The unique venue (this is an actual ship in the canal) makes the most of its pirate theme, with Dutch pannekoeken flavors with pirate and international themes. A great place for kids, but also good for a quiet lunch for adults. Be forewarned: the servings of the savory pannekoeken are very large. The service is very solicitous and efficient. My wife had the German Pannekoeken (ground beef and onion with mustard) and I had the Spanish Pannekoeken (chorizo with Manteca cheese). Both too much to finish, but was delicious. Unfortunately, no Pastafari discounts. Aaaargh!

Of course it is tourist attraction. But compared to usualy tourist traps this one is still very effecient in what they serve.


My Mate and I had an Americaanse and a Hannibal pannekoek and they were really delicious.


Yet, a little too rich.


Merely the price was a little unexpected. For a simple Pannekoek are 8 Euro I believe a little too much.


Nonetheless, worth the trip especially if you are only once in Groningen!!!

A charming place with amazing pancakes! I guarantee you will feel absolutely full afterwards. It is a perfect spot for a sunday with your kids, but also for friends. And yes, you are actually on a ship! The staff were also friendly and efficient!

Went here on a Saturday around 2. Lots of room inside. Food came pretty quick was nice so we could keep sight seeing. Menu is plastic. Place looks kid friendly. Portions pretty big. Mains about €9-12. Food was satisfying but not mind blowing.

Of course a restaurant on a ship is interesting. That's why I give 2 stars. But the pancakes are expensive and nothing special. Moreover, my boyfriend had a bad stomach feeling after eating there. Thus, we won't go there again.
