Taverna dos Trovadores

I liked this restaurant more than my companion who thought the fish in the Portuguese Bacalhau was too chewy...well, it was kinda chewy but tasted great wrapped in a perfectly done collard green leaf. Salad was very good and the side of veggies was cooked properly. It was a lot of food. Overall I recommend this restaurant since the wait staff and the chef are on the ball.

This is a local favorite. Very good service and food. Try the vinho verde (green wine) which is served on tap. Beyond that, extensive wine list. The waiters were helpful in making suggestions. Fresh fish that the owner buys from local fishermen. Loved the pork also.
The owner, Fernando, is a popular Fado singer/guitarist. We loved the evening listening to his music and the singing of the locals. Music started at 10 pm but arrive by 8:30 to get a table near the music.

I liked the "cave" vibe going on here, and the portions were VERY generous (when they brought out the mains, we were certain they were meant to be shared). I had the duck which was probably an entire duck, and absolutely delicious. A crazy deal at 13 EUR. Definitely recommend if you find yourself in this part of Sintra.

Nice place to eat while visiting Sintra. They have a great wine selection. Food is good and service is decent also. Prices are reasonable.

-2 stars for the service with a frown. I know it's in between Christmas and New Years, but if you're open be nice to your patrons? Menus only for the men. Don't bother asking a question, you won't get an answer. Our absolute worst dining service in Portugal (yes, the entire country)

Definitely some authentic Portuguese food. Great service, friendly staff and even had Joaquim De Almeida dining along side us. Highly recommended.

There were 10 of us including two children and the food was very good. Waiter was very helpful and found suitable options for all of us. I personally loved lasagna!

This was one of the most memorable nights in Portugal. It's a nice place with live music and a mix of locals and tourists. The trovadores were super talented. It felt like a good family reunion in a way.
