Synergy Dance Fitness Studio

Synergy Dance Fitness was a blast. I had a friend who told me about it opening in its new location several months ago and when I saw them post on facebook that you and a friend could come for free, I was on it. I invited a couple of friends and one was able to join me and so we hit up the Wednesday night 7pm dance fitness class with Joy. Upon arrival I checked in at the front desk, filled in the newbie paperwork (one page), and waiting in one of several seats in the waiting "area." Now let me just say that the reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the studio is on the smaller side and so while class is going on, others are standing near the front entrance of the one room open studio waiting for the next class to begin. Not a major oddity but enough to take off a star. They have cubbies for your belongings and the sell water if you forget for just a buck.

Well at 7pm sharp Joy started the class off with a bang! This white girl could dance her butt and gave us a killer workout. The very first song we were out of the gate running! I like that because if I'm going to spend an hour working out, I want to have my butt kicked, not coddled. There were women in there who didn't want to go all hardcore and she always gave great modifications for the moves that would still do the job. By the end I was drenched in sweat, feeling good, energized and pleased as punch. I even began to question my gym membership because this class was more intense than the Zumba I frequent. Can I afford both? How many classes a week can I take and still keep my gym membership? Those are the questions I am asking myself.

The next day it honestly felt like my jeans went on a little easier. I kid you not. I know it might be all in my head but I felt good, even the next day. If you follow them on Facebook you can get the schedule updates and on Instagram they play little snippets of their classes. I know that in November they are offering a free yoga class if you take the Wednesday 7pm class you can stay for the yoga class that starts afterwards for free. They also have an "Insanity" class that I'm looking forward to taking. I loved the camaraderie of the people here, didn't feel like a stranger at all. So much fun and can't wait to go again.

They have about five classes available per day.
Drop in rate is $7 per class or buy a class card 10/$50, 20/$85 or $85 unlimited and they bill you month.

First I have never walked in the door and not been greeted with a smile and a hello. The one thing I love the most about Synergy is they don't expire class passes like a lot of other studios. The class pass card is rudimentary but simple enough that I don't have the "technical" problems I have experienced at other places that are using a software to track classes. Not that I carry classes often but it's nice to know if there's an unusual circumstance and I can't get to the classes I want that month that I can use them later at Synergy. So to any other studios who do practice the expiration policy I'll say a LOT of your members have moved to places like Synergy with more flexible class passes -- I mean I see a LOT of familiar faces at Synergy who used to attend other fitness studios in the area.

As for the clases themselves, the dance fitness class has the best playlist I've danced to in a group class in so long! Joy and Manuel are not only great dancers but also good at choreography. Ingeborg's toning classes are so popular it gets cozy in there. I don't know who the folks are that come and chirp or yell in her class but they sure are entertaining and keep me distracted from not wanting to lift this toning sticks another time.

I do wish the instructor was on a raised platform but the space just clearly can't support it and they make do by moving around in front of and even mingled in wth the class at times. The mirrors front and back make it perfect for dancing and spotting. The lower lighting is perfect and I love that they have privacy screens at the front windows so we don't feel like we are dancing in the parking lot.

Very friendly staff; I really like it here because it's people of all sizes and fitness stages that come to have a fun workout. Highly recommend this place to everyone

This is my favorite fitness studio in the area. I started coming to lose the baby weight, and now am addicted. There are classes all through out the day, from 6am-8pm, so it really works well with my crazy schedule. It is not overcrowded, and no commitment. The Dance Fitness classes are so much fun, the hour flies by. The choreography can be modified to any fitness level. There is also insanity classes for those who are at a higher fitness level. Now they added zumba for all ages, so I cannot wait to bring my little guy to shake it!

So obsessed with Synergy. I started here after getting a devastating leg injury and found I could cater the class to my own needs. Now that I am better I can go full out. These women and men are all very supportive and I love how you don't need to depend on a computer system to get in.

Synergy Dance Fitness provides a space for the person who loves to move to music. Whether a seasoned dancer or novice who loves music but just needs a place to express yourself this dynamic duo won't disappoint. If being fit is your goal you will find plenty to be challenged by while being drawn into the novel choreography through variety of musical genres. If you are a beginner that just loves to move to music this is a great place to start. I'm a dancer and I can't think of a better place to spend an hour!
